I was migrating a windows 10 Pro VM image between hypervisors. The image I was trying to migrate when I did a “Change Product Key” rejected this key saying it was invalid. I got what I wanted out of this it just took some extra work but at least I have a fresh rebuilt image now. The download was very easy to do. It took a little bit of research to figure out I also needed an activation code to “Activate” the Windows 10 Pro on my computer.

Somewhere along the way, one of those persons might have installed it on a second system, activated it, because it went past 10 activation threshold, Microsoft detected it that it was being abused and blocked the key from further use.
But if you ever DID need tech support from Microsoft, and you were persistent enough to actually get them on the phone for free, wouldn’t they know from the license key that this was a pirated product unless it had not already been activated 10 times?
